Pincushion People
Pincushion is all about ideas and relationships with people—the people you already know and new voices you discover as use the Web. (Friends and strangers might respond very differently to, “Here’s what I think, what do you think?” That’s part of the fun of Pincushion!)
Your Worldview
Pincushion broadly defines five types of relationships. These five are reflected in the Worldview slider that you’ll see in the Pincushion sidebar and other places.
You use the Worldview slider to select the visibility of both comments you post and the comments of others that you wish to view in the sidebar.
Move the slider from right to left for increasing levels of intimacy:
| Public | Comments will be visible to everyone through the Pincushion sidebar or the Pincushion Web bar |
|---|---|
| Contacts | People in your Pincushion Personal Network |
| Acquaintances | People with whom you have a mutual Pincushion relationship — they’re in your Personal Pincushion Network and you’re in theirs. |
| Friends | People with whom you have a mutually accepted Friend Request |
| Invite Only | When creating a comment, only those you invite can see it in Pincushion. When viewing comments, only those to which you have been invited will be displayed. |
